The Abha Festival
| The Abha Festival was the pioneer summer festival within the Kingdom. It has become a major popular concert which is televised by several satellite stations around the Middle East |

Events during the festival include poetry recitals, lectures and traditional music concerts, festivals, dancing.
Key events include; religious activities throughout the region; an armed forces expo; The Abha Awards ceremony for outstanding achievements in the Province; a Theatre Week where teams from various parts of Saudi Arabia are invited to compete against each other; an International Soccer Tournament with five Saudi teams and five international teams; Rock climbing, paragliding and equestrian events; a carnival; a women’s programme; the Abha Book Fair; the Abha Shopping Festival; and light and sound show that culminates with a spectacular fireworks display.
Other festivals throughout the year, within the province include: Qaryat al Muftaha, a winter festival held at a location in the coastal area and offering poetry, traditional dance, lectures and contests; local festivals in Qaryat Bahahs and Qaryat Bin Hamssan and in Tanomah, a summer festival, including poetry, religious lectures and traditional dance |
